Moto is my Motto

I love the moto style and had many failed attempts with other moto jeggings.  I bought these moto leggings in both colors on clearance last December and was so disappointed when I went to write a blog post about them they were SOLD OUT!  I reference them in my blog post "Hello Moto."  After I saw they were sold out I contacted Nordstrom to see if they would be coming back into stock?  Sadly they were not.  I may of shed a few tears and binge ate Christmas cookies . . . which you can do with these leggings, because they stretch with you.  Lymphie leg . . . or tummy.

The BP Washed Moto Legging is a staple for my fall and winter wardrobe.  I was excited to see that they come in plus size this year too!  Every time I have worn them my friends can't believe they're not jeans and I am obsessed with the moto detail which makes them stand apart from just an average legging and of course fitting over Bertha makes me want to sing!  Like I said they were my go to this past year and have held up strong.  I should note I treat them like my kid's baby blankets, the only difference is I don't wash my leggings on delicate.  And no dryer for this girl, hang dry only!  With hang drying I feel like my clothes last longer and this 5'10 lady can't take any chances on clothing items shrinking.

So if you're looking for a fall pant, legging, jegging whatever you want to call it, I highly recommend these.  They fit true to size and are the perfect legging to stretch with your lymphie limb, especially on the days it's angry.

I guess it's time to introduce Bertha, my previous post might make a little more sense.  Some women name their boobs, I name my legs.  My skinny "normal" leg is Tiffany who I imagine would be a cheerleader and a runner.  And then there is my lymphedema leg Bertha, who bakes likes science.  Ok I know that is so stereotypical, but it's makes me laugh and makes other people feel awkward.  I mean they named a golf club "Big Bertha" so really I'm just following suit.  Bertha has been with me since 2007 and isn't going away anytime soon, so it was only proper she be named.  We have a love hate relationship, but in the end she is a big part of my life and according to my husband "his favorite leg in the world."  Yes you can "awwww" now.  And yes I hit the jackpot with him.  XOXO-Allie

Loving Life In Wide Width Winter Boots

Winter in the PNW means rain, rain, a randomlly sunny day that is like 70 degrees, followed by-you guessed it rain.  Where I live in Oregon we do have some light dustings of snow and every 2-3 years it "dumps snow" which means a couple of inches.  Basically the whole city shuts down when this happens and we all hunker in for the 1-2 days it last.  It's the one time a year I love our steep driveway, it's the best sledding hill!  Winter and rain boots has been one of the most difficult items to find that fit Bertha .  Here are a few style I found that should work for us Lymphies and Lippys. xo-Allie Sorel Out and About Waterproof Bootie Living in Oregon and as a soccer Mom I need a good basic boot to keep Bertha dry.  I especially like these boots, because they are lace up, so you can adjust them if you only have one "Lymphie foot."  This is the boot I've had for the past few years.  I read reviews and decided to size up 2 sizes to a 12 and I'm glad...

Ode to Birkenstocks

So when I was 19 and had no clue what real life was.  My 3 guys friends and I (I should note I was a tomboy not a floozy) headed to the beach for a day of relaxing, because that's what every 19 years old needs, right?!  We walked by a Birkenstocks store and I said to one of them, "I remember those, I think I want to get a pair!"  The goof of our group, not hearing my previous comment pointed at the store. "Birkenstocks!  Hippy shoes!" For fear I would be excommunicated from our group-ok maybe that's too dramatic.  For fear of being made fun of, I quietly walked passed the store with only the longing of Birkenstocks in my heart, not on my feet.  Oh 19 year old me, if I only knew being made fun of for shoes would be the least of my worries in life.  One of those three guys in now my husband and was sure to remind me of that day when I purchased my Birks.
