Don't Worry It's A Sunless Tan Man

A golden tan, it's what we all want, but at what cost?  I am currently living with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, that is not sun related.  My parents always sun screened me as a kid, I was never one to fake & bake, but still here we are.  Having melanoma has given me an ever deeper conviction about always wearing sunscreen. Lucky for me I do live in the Pacific Northwest where it is overcast and rains about 3/4 of the year.  But us PNW'ers live for our summers.  We have a lush landscape with the beach and mountains less than 2 hours away and everything from kite boarding to fishing for famous Chinooks is all at our fingertips.  The only thing about us PNW'ers is many of us come into the summer season pale as ghost!  I've tried all of the creams and lotions to give me that sun kissed look, instead what it gives me is a chemical bath and stained orange sheets.  Well no more, this summer I found my solution!

One of my best friends sells Rodan + Fields.  They have amazing products, one I recently tried was the Essentials Foaming Sunless Tan.  I have developed an auto immune disease from my immunotherapies called Vitiligo where I have lost pigment from some of my skin and hair.  The main areas are my hair, face, neck and chest.  I thought I would try this product to see if it would help blend with the other shades of my skin.  This reminds me of the song from Pocahontas "you can paint with all the colors of the wind."  That is my body-all of the colors, from my vitiligo skin to my scars from surgeries, my silver hairs from motherhood to my white hair again from vitiligo.  And we can't forget Bertha my lymphie leg that never sees the light of day and turns all sorts of purple, red and blue shades after I shower.

I am a 4 make-up item person: tinted spf moisturizer, bronzer, mascara and eyebrow powder.  So I need simple and easy to use products.  Right before bed I spread the R+F Essentials Foaming Sunless Tan foam on my face, neck and chest.  It is a super lightweight foam and bonus, a little goes a long way.  I waited a few minutes while it dried before hopping in bed.  First off what I noticed was almost zero smell!  The next morning I woke up to find no orange stains on my sheets, win!  I rushed to my mirror to find a sun kissed bronzed goddess in front of me, double win!  It looked so amazing I opted to not even put on my tinted moisturizer with the rest of my make-up.  Just some spf face lotion, a bit of bronzer, mascara and of course my eyebrows.  That day I showered, exfoliated my body and of course used my favorite Kiehl's lotion.  That night I used the foam on all of my body.  After letting it dry a bit I went to bed.  I woke up the next morning to inspect my work.  My fake tan was amazingly even and around my ankle and toes there was hardly any of that awkward "this is obviously fake" mess.

So this is a secret I had to share!  No, I'm not being paid and I don't sell it.  I do want to promote my girlfriend who I bought it from and send you her way if you don't know someone who sells R+D and want to try this fabulous product.  When I asked her if I could put her information on my blog she said yes and also wanted to give a promotion to my readers.  If you do order anything through Krissy and spend $80, she will give you $10 off your order.  Her website is: www.krissyh.myrandf.com  To receive this promotion of have any questions about the products email Krissy at: hires.krissy@gmail.com  Krissy is an amazing woman and Mama who loves to help women feel their best.  She also works for a non profit that helps Foster Families in her area.  Plus our husbands are besties and both fire fighters, so we are fire wives together.  So thankful I found this products and can be sun free tan all year rough now.

Lots of love, Allie
