Loving life with Lymphedema

Guess whose back, back again, Allie's back (and Bertha ) tell a friend.  Hello my lovely lymphie and lippy ladies!  To catch you up to date I have been healthy, my tumors have remained stable and I am not currently doing any treatment, yay!  Now that summer is here life has slowed down a little bit and I of course wanted to come back to share my support with showing off my lymphie leg during the magical season of summer.  Thank you to those of you that reached out to check in with me on my hiatus. I know it's summer, but here in the NW it's barely started.  There have only been a few days with  in high temperatures, so my daily uniform until recently has been these T aryn Zella Joggers , t-shirt and Birkenstocks .  I have basically lived in these amazing sweats, they were my second skin during our camping trip and I count the hours when I have to wash and air dry them . . . maybe I should invest in a second pair? They have held up well with no fading...

My first post about these boots was called The Uggly Ducking .  I love this particular style of Ugg, because it has some give when getting my lymphie foot in and also stretch and mold to Bertha after a while.  There is an elastic band that closes the boot on the side, which is a God send on days Bertha is angry.  The Mini Bailey Button Boot 11 Boot:  https://shopstyle.it/l/XFeV .  Just remember to seal them before you wear them out.  Each pair I've owned have had a lot of life in them, the only reason I had to say goodbye was because Bertha's toe poked a hole in the fabric. I know some people thing they are less than cute, but I'm convinced those people have never tried a pair on.  Even though my husband tease me about them, do you know what was on his Christmas list?  Yep, you guessed it Uggs!  xoxo-Allie

I love seeing everyone's #TopNine2018 pictures and thought I would follow suit with my Top Nine Favorite Find of this past year.  So in no particular order here they are! #1-Ok maybe they are in order of favorite? I was so excited when I found these booties. If you've followed me you know I am always on the hunt for different ways to have my nails looking polished that work with my daily compression stocking routine. I paint my nails like a 5 year old and no matter low long I let them dry they smudge or chip whenever I put on or take off my compression stocking. I did try the new "nail dipping" method at home and let me say it is worth the $45 plus tip to have them professionally done.  Since I don't have heaps of money to spend on my nails I'm always searching for the next best home nail care.   I am finally embracing fall now that I have a few staple items in my wardrobe.  From radiation and cancer treatment it has put my body into early menopause and am running hot!  So I am loving having a light weight jean jacket to throw on and then quickly tear off during a hot flash, ha ha!  This one is from Old Navy . My sweater underneath is from the LOFT from years ago, but I found a similar one currently there the Stitchy Sweater .  These BP Moto leggings come in regular and plus sizes from Nordstrom.  And I live through my shoes as a skater in my Old Skool Vans . I love that I can still wear my Birkenstocks in October!  These are the Gizeh style.  My sweater and top are both Free People.  The sweater is from last year, but this one is on my wish list!   Also my shirt was a gift, but here is a similar one .  And of course my favorite skimmers by HUE , all sizes are still in stock at DSW. You guys, how did I not think of this before?!  To really camouflage Bertha, I should just camouflage Bertha.  Confused yet?  It's such a Dad joke, but I thought of it the minute I put on these leggings.  I love the camo trend, but haven't found the perfect piece until I stumbled across these leggings.  The Women's Camo Print High-Rise Leggings by Wild Fable at Target.  At this price point it was worth a shot.  They are a thin cotton/spandex blend legging, I know what you're thinking, because I was thinking it too-are they see through?  Ladies I made sure they were not with a pair obnoxiously crazy pattern knickers. They are super fun to wear sporty with some sneakers or to dress up with a boot.  The green camo did come in regular and plus sizes, but sadly the Plus sizes sold out.  Fear not, these also come in red camo in regular and plus sizes , but they are also selling out fast!  I'll let you know if they come back in gr...
