Happy New Year! Top Nine Finds of 2018

I love seeing everyone's #TopNine2018 pictures and thought I would follow suit with my Top Nine Favorite Find of this past year.  So in no particular order here they are!


#1-Ok maybe they are in order of favorite?
I was so excited when I found these booties. I have searched every fall for booties that would fit Bertha and this year I found them!  The from Target that come in wide sizes!!  Bonus they are a take on Free People's bootie The Royale Pointy Toe Flat: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCBw, but a portion on the cost (and I probably couldn't fit my lymphie foot in Free People's.)  I love them so much I purchased these boots in brown & black.  I should of ordered 2 pairs each.  The Wenda Cut Out Booties: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCv8 are mostly sold out as of now at Target, but you can set an alert that will let you know when your size is back in stock.


#2-Moto Leggings: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCBX.  My go to "pant."  I wear mostly tunic type tops, so these are perfect for me!  The leggings are stretchy enough to cover Bertha and when I first wore them my girlfriends thought they were actually jeans!  They come in Regular and Plus sizes (I would suggest sizing up from your normal size) and are currently on sale!










#3-HUE Ripped Denim Skimmers.  I don't know if it's all of the rips, but they always fit Bertha.  Just make sure to perfect your toe point when putting these on or else your toes will get tangled up.  Nordstrom Rack has them in a different color: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCwc . I still can't believe they are in stock in every size at DSW and they are and with an amazing sales price to boot.  I sport these almost daily in the summer, but added a sweater and booties they have also been a great fall and winter pant.








#4-Birkenstock's Essential Gizeh Flip Flop: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCCA.  I know it's winter and they currently don't have many sizes avalible, but keep your eyes out for when these come out (or I'll just post it) because this is a shoe you don't want to miss.  It's foam, stretchy and super comfortable for only $40!







#5-Old Skool Vans: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCCF-I'm trying to be a "cool Mom"  but actually I do love these shoes.  In my blog post about these I joked they are my "dressy sneaker."  They fit Bertha, give great compression for her and bonus I match with my kids.  #vanfamily  Funny thing is I actually drive a van too.











#6-Hue again!  Hue Moto  Leggings: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCCT.  I just checked to see if they still have them in stock and they do!  In two colors!  And I am going to try to stretch my Christmas money to buy at least one pair along with my Kiehl's lotion . . . which leads me to #7.











#7-Kiehl's Creme de Corps Lotion: https://shopstyle.it/l/XCwE.  Right now their holiday label lotion is 25% off!  OR 25% off a travel size lotion & my favorite lip balm if you just want to try it out.  I know this lotion is actually from a blog post in 2017, but I can't resist, I am in love with this lotion.  It has saved my skin from the dry winters, skin side effects from cancer treatment and keeping Bertha moisturized always.

If you're working out, need a warm layer under snow pants, leggings for under a dress or lounging around the house.  Every woman needs at least one pair of black Zella Live In Leggings I'm convinced.

Farewell 2018, I found many pants and shoes that are staples in my closet.  I am excited for what 2019 will bring and the new find that are out there waiting for me to uncover for us Lymphie Ladies!! xoxo-Allie

Loving Life In Wide Width Winter Boots

I guess it's time to introduce Bertha, my previous post might make a little more sense.  Some women name their boobs, I name my legs.  My skinny "normal" leg is Tiffany who I imagine would be a cheerleader and a runner.  And then there is my lymphedema leg Bertha, who bakes likes science.  Ok I know that is so stereotypical, but it's makes me laugh and makes other people feel awkward.  I mean they named a golf club "Big Bertha" so really I'm just following suit.  Bertha has been with me since 2007 and isn't going away anytime soon, so it was only proper she be named.  We have a love hate relationship, but in the end she is a big part of my life and according to my husband "his favorite leg in the world."  Yes you can "awwww" now.  And yes I hit the jackpot with him.  XOXO-Allie

Summer Sandals- Save and Splurge

Summer can be dreaded for Lymphies, the heat on our limbs can cause them to swell even more.  Add to that bearing our compression in swimsuits and sandals, it can be emotionally difficult as well.  I hope my post will alleviate some of the concern.  I've collected some summer sandals that will fit your lymphie leg (all the sandals listed come in wide widths or will most likely fit people with LE) For each style I've included a "Save" option and "Splurge."  With shoes I like to purchase some fun trends and not spend a lot, but then there are some shoes I know will last and I will get a lot of use from, I am willing to spend a little more on these.  You may think "Allie it's only March, summer is months away!?"  I've noticed that a lot of the seasonal items are out of stock by the time it's the actual season to shop for, so I have learned to grab an item if I really love it, because chances are it will be gone next time I shop.  I hope yo
